MSM2909-xx-x RS-485 to Infrared Converter

The MSM2909-xx-x converts AI’s proprietary data bus (RS485) commands to infrared commands to control non-Audio International source equipment.  This module is capable of providing control of up to three different styles of source equipment (DVD, VCP, etc.) per zone.  Although the module has connections for up to five zones, it can only output commands to one zone at a time.  The output to the source equipment is accomplished using the Audio International 282-00 sender.  Current limiting resistors for the 282-00 sender are contained in the module.  Pins are provided on the unit connector for connection of a customer provided status LED.  This LED will flash whenever there is infrared activity.  A 2.2K current limiting resistor for the visual LED is also internal to the module.

The “-xx” in the model number designates the type of configuration per customer request.
