       DeCrane Aerospace Audio International’s CPC-201-01-1 passenger control panels display full color graphics at 320 x 240 resolution and translate user input via touch screen graphics to control various elements of the aircraft cabin management system.  Unlike standard EL panels, the customer determines the device graphics.  PCI-102-01-x units have an integral connector for customer connections.

CPC-201-01-1 units work exclusively with PCI-102-01-x, which serves as a processor for up to two CPCs and processes the AES-3 digital audio into standard analog for delivery to the analog headphone output on the CPC-201-01-1.  These two units are connected as shown to the right.

All CPC-201-01-1 units have a 15" +/- 0.5" wire harness for customer connections Note that the connection between the CPC and PCI units is sold separately by Audio International.  These specially-designed connectors come in three lengths—12", 36", or 60" and are differentiated by their part numbers:  WH-CPC-PCI-12, WH-CPC-PCI-36, and WH-CPC-PCI-60, respectively.

    DES-1001-102-x accepts both serial digital audio and serial digital video inputs and provides analog audio output signals and analog video output signals to an external A/V device or devices.  This unit integrates a Serial Digital Deserializer Board intended to encode one AES3 (aka AES/EBU) serial digital audio source and one standard-definition (SD) serial digital interface (SDI) video source into analog audio outputs and analog video outputs, respectively.  The serial digital input signal is accepted from either compatible switching devices or compatible encoding devices.  The output provides stereo analog audio along with Composite (NTSC, PAL, SECAM) video signals.  Stereo audio output is realized using 24-bit, 48 kHz digital-to-analog conversion.

The DES-1001-102-x accepts serial digital audio input signals and serial digital video input signals.

The DVD-9101-201-x contains three SDI video outputs and three AES-3 audio output channels.  Audio, video, and control commands are handled via AI’s RS-485 data bus.  This device is designed to interface with equipment containing AI Serial Digital video and AES-3 audio equipment and is provided with power and ID strapping connections.

    The MCD-9101-101-x is a single compact disc player, with a serial digital interface and multi-disc audio file storage capabilities. It is specifically designed to meet the special requirements of aircraft use. This unit accepts and plays back standard audio CDs and also functions as a pseudo-multiple CD playback device. This enhances the normal operation of a single CD module. It allows the temporary storage of audio content from CD to a non-removable memory (NAND flash). It allows complete control of track selection through a variety of front panel controls and/or RS-485 data bus commands. The unit has a high quality output and a full range frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz ± 3 dB. A removable cover bezel allows customization of the unit to other décor.

     DeCrane Aerospace Audio International’s PA-9075-101-x serial digital cabin audio amplifier provides public address and chimes amplification as well as amplification of cabin entertainment audio.  Each unit has a single digital audio input, analog cabin briefer audio input, discrete key inputs, 4 full range speaker outputs, PA audio output, RS-485 data bus interface, and power/ground inputs. 

The cabin audio amplifier has the ability to prioritize audio inputs in the following order:

      1.  Passenger address;
      2.  Briefer;
      3.  All other audio sources.

 Lower priority sources will mute in the presence of higher priority signals.

       The cabin audio amplifier is capable of providing passenger address audio in the event of a loss of normal aircraft electrical power, independent of the cabin management system.

     DeCrane Aerospace Audio International’s PA-9075-301-x Serial Digital Cabin Audio Amplifier is a four-output Class T amplifier that accepts stereo AES-3 digital audio, analog PA microphone and briefer audio, and can generate chime and ring tones.  Operational control is handled through DeCrane Aerospace Audio International’s proprietary RS-485 data bus and discrete inputs.

Each unit has 3 microphone inputs, mic bias outputs, analog cabin briefer audio input, discrete key inputs for microphones, briefer, and chime tones, a single digital audio input and single analog audio input, left and right low frequency (woofer) speaker outputs, left and right high (mid-tweet) frequency speaker outputs, and 2 mono speaker outputs that can be used to drive lavatory or galley speakers, PA audio analog and digital AES3 outputs, RS-485 data bus interface, and power/ground inputs.

The unit has six channels out @ 75 Watts/channel. Two channels are mid-high frequency stereo out, and two channels are low frequency stereo out. The remaining two channels are mono channels for FWD and AFT LAV speakers, which provide mono entertainment audio and PA audio to the LAV, with volume control of the entertainment audio. The PA-9075-301-x also incorporates an integrated tone control with an optional 10-band Equalizer.

   The input accepts stereo analog audio along with Composite, Y/C (S-Video), or Y/Pr/Pb (component) video signals. Operation is independent of video standard, capable of operating on the common standards - NTSC, PAL, and SECAM. AES3 audio output is accomplished using 24-bit, 48kHz analog-to-digital conversion of the stereo analog audio.

   An audio input gain adjustment allows gain selections of -6dB, 0dB, and +10dB to compensate for varying levels of audio source devices. Depicted below, the gain adjustment is located on the side of the unit.

   The power-up video input standard switching order, i.e. Composite, S-video, Component, is selected via the configuration ID pins. A video select input allows the input standard to cycle in the event the serializer is used to connect to different video types. Only a single standard should be connected at one time, i.e. composite or S-video can be connected at the input, but not at the same time.

   Three configuration ID pins are used to determine the power-up video standard that is being decoded and the order in which the standard will switch when the video select input becomes active.

The TSC-9084-101-x Integrated Touch Screen/LCD Monitor is capable of displaying full color graphics and video at a vertical resolution of 768 pixels and a horizontal resolution of 1024 pixels (XGA). The TSC-9084-101-x is also capable of interfacing to an SDI video signal. In addition, a graphics overlay will be displayed on the TSC-9084-101-x Integrated Touch Screen/LCD Monitor, with the ability to blend the video and graphics.

   An optional mounting kit (part number TSCKIT-9084-01) may be purchased for added mounting provisions. This kit is comprised of angle brackets, spring clips, and hardware to enable bulkhead and cover bezel installation as well as behind bulkhead installation.
